The Belk Bowl continues to feature the top college players

The Belk Bowl continues to feature the top college players, as 10 alumni of the game were selected in the first three rounds of the 2011 NFL Draft. That is second only to the 12 players taken the first three rounds in the 2008 draft.

Four players from North Carolina, who played in the Belk Bowl in 2008 and 2009, were selected in the first two rounds alone. UNC was followed closely by last year’s participant Clemson, with three second round selections.

In total, 47 Belk Bowl alumni have been chosen in rounds 1-3, including 18 in the first round, and  #1 overall pick Mario Williams of NC State by the Houston Texans.
